Rotary Club of Plymouth A.M.

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Plymouth AM!  As President of this club for the 2007-2008 year, I welcome you to one of the most active service clubs in Plymouth.

Our club is somewhat unique in the fact that we are a young club, evenly divided between men and women and even though we meet at 7 am (!) - we have a lively, active and fun organization which seeks to serve those in need in our local community and throughout the world.

The Rotary Club of Plymouth AM has established a great partnership with Tanger School located in the Plymouth-Canton School District.  At this school, children with special needs receive early intervention programs and our club has supported Tanger School with contributions and volunteer service for over 5 years.  We built a Motor Sensory Room for the school, we plan and host their annual Family Christmas Party, put on a Bike Safety Rally at the school, and we are currently planning a Field of Dreams playground for children with special needs to be built on site.

Our club also provides services to Seniors by hosting a Free Holiday Dinner and Celebration in December featuring local school choirs and bands as well as other entertainment.

The Rotary TAP Water Project which helps bring clean water and water filtration systems to locales throughout Central America is also another major project for our club along with 5 other clubs in the area.  We believe that access to clean water is a human right.  And most importantly, in the next 3 years, Rotary International will complete it's mission to completely eradicate Polio through out the world!

The Rotary Club of Plymouth welcomes anyone who believes in the Rotary motto, "Service Above Self" and the idea that "the world needs dreamers and the world needs doers - but most of all the world needs dreamers who do!"

Text Box: “My role? Well, you know I was stumped one day when a little boy asked, ‘Do you draw Mickey Mouse?’
I had to admit I do not draw anymore.

‘Then you think up all the jokes and ideas?’
‘No,’ I said, ‘I don’t do that.’

Finally, he looked at me and said, ‘Mr. Disney, just what do you do?’
‘Well,’ I said, ‘sometimes I think of myself as a little bee. I go from one area of the Studio to another and gather pollen and sort of stimulate everybody. I guess that’s the job I do.’”
